Augusta Public Schools announces that Superintendent Matt Ward has submitted his resignation, effective June 30.  The Board of Education extends its appreciation for his service and leadership to the district, its students, staff, and community.

The Board has officially begun the process of selecting the next superintendent and has enlisted the service of the Kansas Association of School Boards to guide and facilitate the search.  The Kansas Association of School Boards has provided superintendent search services to Kansas school districts for nearly half a century and works directly with local boards to ensure a thorough and professional process.  

The superintendent search will follow a structured process which includes community survey opportunities and focus group meetings.

The Board of Education is committed to conducting a transparent and thoughtful search to ensure strong leadership for Augusta Public Schools moving forward.
