BOE Success Plan

The BOE will update this plan during the fall 2010
for the 2010-2011 school year. 

1. Student Achievement
1.1. Higher student achievement.
1.2. Continuous growth.
1.3. Empower teachers to use data and technology.
1.4. Celebrate/communicate success publicly.
1.5. Analyze student success and failure.
1.6 Focus on curriculum, instruction and assessment. 

2. Recruit and retain highly qualified staff
2.1. Improve relationships between all staff members. 
2.2. Competitive wage and benefit package for employees. 
2.3. Use of professional development time effectively. 
2.4. Actively recruit highly qualified teachers, administrators, and classified staff. 

3. Staff relationships
3.1. Improve teamwork among all staff to reach Board of Education Success Plan goals.
3.2. All schools working toward same goals.

4. Communications/rapport
4.1. Build trust and improve communication between the BOE, superintendent, administration, staff, and community (all stakeholders).
4.2. Promote parent and/or community volunteer involvement in education. 
4.3. Improve understanding of district budget and finance by all stakeholders. 

5. Alternative education opportunities for all students
5.1. The Augusta Learning Center will provide alternative learning opportunities for high school aged students and adults. 
5.2. Increase involvement in career and technology education.
5.3 Develop career plans for all students. 

6. District facilities
6.1 Implementing the bond issue approved by stakeholders.
6.2 Continue to improve the existing facilities through the effective use of capital outlay funds.

7.  School safety and security
7.1 Provide a safe and secure learning and working environment in all district facilities.
7.2 Improve school environments that promote and protect students' and staff members' health, well-being. and ability to learn.
