Robinson Elementary, home of the Roadrunners, was originally built in 1961. A library addition along with six classrooms were added in 1977 as growth increased. We currently have a 4-Year Old At-Risk preschool program along with two all-day Kindergarten classrooms through 5th grades with a student population of 255. Robinson is a Schoolwide Title 1 School, which means we receive additional Federal Funds that are used to help facilitate student learning. The school is nestled in a quaint neighborhood about a mile north of the main street in Augusta, which makes it easily accessible.
Robinson is a full-service school and has music, art, PE, a technology teacher, special education services, a full-time library, and so on.
Our school proudly displays large banners in the entryway that lets everyone know who enters daily that we are a “Standard of Excellence” school. Our students earned the “Standard of Excellence” designation through the state of Kansas for our high academic state test scores in math, reading, & science during the 2009-2010 school year. A big honor was Robinson's recent designation as a National Blue Ribbon School in November of 2009. We are very proud of the awards earned and accomplishments of both our students and our staff. Robinson students and staff also earned the prestigious and coveted "Governor's Achievement Award" three years in a row; during the 2006-2007, 2007-2008, & 2008-2009 school years. This means our students scored in the top 5% of all elementary schools in the state on both the Kansas State Reading and Math Assessments. We were one of only 43 other elementary schools to earn this award in 2007;one of only 44 schools to earn this award in 2008; and one of only 43 schools to earn this award in 2009.
Robinson Elementary is a School wide Title I school. This means that Federal Title I funds will be used to serve all students and staff as we strive for continual improvement and to raise academic achievement for all students.
We will engage in strategies that increase the amount and quality of learning time and help provide a high-quality curriculum for all students, according to the comprehensive plan to help children meet the State’s challenging standards.
Please read the Student/Staff/Parent Compact located here. We would appreciate it if both your and your child would sign and return it to school as soon as possible.
Thank You,
Greg Taylor, Principal
