Meet the Author 2008-09

Steve Swinburne is our featured author this year.  He will visit Augusta elementaries on Oct. 7-8. Mr. Swinburne is a biologist in addition to being an author.  He was highly recommended by authors Jerry Pallotta and Shelly Gill. There will  be a presentation at each school. Books will be on sale prior to his visit.

New Automation System This Year!

A new web-based library automation is being introduced this year. Our previous Spectrum program is replaced by Alexanderia. It will be a learning experience for all as we discover new capabilities to help students and staff. It will be an exciting change.

Library Info.

Robinson's library is located in the center of the north section of the school. It houses approximately 9,000 books and other materials. All students visit the library at least once a week and many visit more often.  In addition to reading for enjoyment and knowledge, students use their reading skills to earn AR points for "fame" and prizes.

Last year district Accelerated Reader  Enterprise was added. The online database provides students access to  than 100.000 AR tests as well as numerous literacy, vocabulary, and recorded tests to meet the needs of all our students. STAR is utilized to determine the reading range that will enable each student to achieve success.
