A Note from the Principal
Welcome to Garfield Elementary School. We are proud of our students' outstanding academic achievements and excellent teaching staff. It is exciting for our school to receive the 2006 No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School Award. Each year only five public schools in Kansas receive this nomination based on students' assessments scores. Click here for more information on the government's Blue Ribbon Schools program.
Garfield School recognizes the all day kindergarten program as one factor that provides the building blocks for our students' successes.
Another important component that provides support for all students is our School Wide Title One Program which provides additional reading support for all students. For Title One Program information, click here.
The Renaissance Master School is an integral part of our exemplary reading program, which sets high standards for individual students to master and accelerate learning.
We believe that research-based strategies and instruction helped our students meet the Standard of Excellence in math 2003-2004, and Standard of Excellence in reading, math and science 2004-2005.
Welcome to our school where STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT IS NUMBER ONE!
Sincerely,
Kim Christner
