These scholarships are available for Augusta High School seniors in the 2009-2010 school year.
If there is a particular requirement for a scholarship, it is listed below.
All scholarship applications must be turned in by March 31, 2010.
All applications online are in PDF format.
- Student must plan to enter the teaching field
- Augusta High School senior who plans on attending college
- majoring in a medically related field. These fields may include: pharmacy school, nursing, physician’s assistant, medical school, radiology, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, or physical therapy but is not excluded to the occupations listed alone.
- 3.5 GPA or greater
- 1-page double spaced typed essay explaining what medically related field you plan to enter and why.
- No special skills, other than the potential for academic success, are required. Students with athletic ability, music accomplishments, dramatic acting skills, etc. have other scholarship avenues available to them. They are not eligible for this scholarship.
- Student must attend a 2 year or 4 year college.
Chelsea Gerbitz Memorial Scholarship
- Student must be a graduating senior or college student who is furthering his or her career through vocational and/or higher education pursuits.
- Student must have an overall Grade Point Average of 2.0 or higher
- Students with fewer alternative scholarship opportunities will be given preference.
- Student will complete the following documentation:
- A completed scholarship application
- A summary of what the Chelsea Gerbitz Scholarship means to you.
- Female graduate of Augusta High School
(two: One Male, One Female)
- Student must be a graduating senior of Augusta High School and have participated as an athlete in a sport during their senior year.
- Student must have an overall Grade Point Average of 3.0 or above.
- Student will complete the following documentation:
- A completed scholarship application cover page.
- A resume that includes the academic, extra-curricular and work history of the student.
- One essay of not more than two pages in length, double-spaced, size 12 font, with a one inch overall margin covering:
- The student’s educational goals.
- Reasons the student feels they qualify for the scholarship.
- Applicant must be a member of the National Honor Society.
John C. Hutter Scholarship
- Applicant must have participated in the athletic activities of the school.
- Applicant must have exceptional character.
- A monetary need must exist.
- Applicant must further his/her education through community college, trade or vocational schools.
- Emphasize work with youth or children.
- Attend Butler Community College
- Graduate from Augusta High School
- Attend Butler Community College in the fall semester of high school graduation

Augusta Optimist Club
- Plan to major in Spanish
- Have actively participated in Spanish Club activities
- Have maintained the highest grades in Spanish class(es)
- Have studied Spanish for the longest period of time
- Show the most compelling reasons for continued study
- Show some special need
This scholarship is available to any senior who has taken at least 3 courses offered by the Business Department. All teachers of the Business Department (Hasting, Roberts, Wilks) will determine the scholarship recipients. The number of students awarded this scholarship and the dollar amount given is based on money available as well as the talent and work ethic of those competing. (Usually 1 to 3 seniors will be awarded $200 to $500 each.)
The scholarship may be applied toward any post secondary school—4-yr. college, 2-year college, vocational/technical school.
