PROUD TO BE AN ORIOLE
Augusta High School, Class of 1973
I have worked in the Augusta School District since February 1993. I was originally hired to be the Administrative Assistant for the Assistant Superintendent at the "White House" at 301 W. Kelly. During my second year in the district, I moved to the position of Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent and Board of Education Clerk and got to move to the "Brick Building," just next door to the "White House."
Both the brick building and the white house have been demolished and the Administrative Office is now located at 2345 Greyhound Drive. I'm proud to say that in the years I've worked in the district, I have only worked with three superintendents, Jim Markos, Jim Lentz and now John Black. As Board Clerk, I have worked with many great board members who have worked hard to make the best decisions for all students of our district. I wear many hats working in the Administrative Office, but, my current position is Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent and Human Resources. One of the best things about working in the HR Department is I get to meet all of our new staff members, although, the new teachers seem to be getting younger and younger. I truly cannot imagine working anywhere else.
I am a "homegrown" girl--graduated from Augusta High School with the Class of 1973. My husand Clint and I have raised two boys, Rob Bohon and Derek Hummel, both who attended the Augusta School District, and we currently have five grandchildren.
